My intrinsic desire to be a lifelong learner, paired with my student centered approach and ability to cultivate positive relationships with students, staff and families will make me an asset to your district in a leadership role. I am a critical thinker, active listener and dedicated learner. My core values as an educational leader will allow me to empower students to learn in a supportive and nurturing environment that encourages them to find academic success, develop their talents and achieve their highest potential.

Working in education is not just what I do, but rather who I am. At Gloversville, I have proven my dedication, professionalism and desire to improve my best practices as I navigated a new position and became a first time mom. At Mohonasen, I seamlessly transitioned between teaching in the ELA and Special Education departments over the past six years. My students and I created a classroom that lent itself to student centered instruction, which allowed my learners to be more engaged and practice problem solving skills that helped them in their daily lives. I consistently used student data to set instructional goals and have students take ownership of their learning and track their own progress through data collection, goal setting and conferencing throughout the year.

Being involved in the community I serve is very important to me. In Gloversville I have gone on numerous home visits and made connections with local agencies. At Mohonasen, I was an active member in the Rotterdam community through my role as National Junior Honor Society advisor. I continue to attend various sporting events, art shows and theater productions, which has allowed me to interact with our students and families outside the classroom.

Being a school building leader grants me the opportunity to give back to a profession that has shaped me and I am eager to continue to evolve.
